In the framework of mutual visits between the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and African financial institutions working in the field of financing private sector projects, a delegation from the Housing Finance Company of Kenya (HFC Ltd), headed by H.E. Mr. Steve Mainda, Chairman of the Board of Directors and accompanied by Mr. Adan D. Mohamed, a member of the Board of Directors, and by Mr. Sam Waweru, the Managing Director, conducted an official visit to BADEA headquarters in Khartoum on Wednesday, August 8th 2018.

Within the framework of cooperation between the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and non-Arab African countries, H.E. Dr. Diéné Keita, Minister of Cooperation and African Integration, visited BADEA’s Headquarters in Khartoum and met with the Director General H.E. Dr. Sidi Ould TAH.

US $ 20 million dollars from BADEA to the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC)

The Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC), signed today, Sunday, 08/07/2018, at BADEA’s Headquarters in Khartoum, a Line of Credit of US $ 20 million, as part of BADEA’s program for Financing Arab Exports to African Countries, in accordance with BADEA’s Seventh Five-Year Plan (2015-2019).

The Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), held its 2nd meeting for the year 2018, in Tangier, kingdom of Morocco, during the period 20-22 June 2018.

The meeting was chaired by H.E. Engineer Yousif Bin Ibrahim AL BASSAM, Chairman of BADEA’s Board of Directors, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Sidi Ould TAH, the Director General.

During the period from 20 to 22 June 2018, Tangier, kingdom of Morocco, will host the second meeting of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), for the year 2018.

The meeting will be opened by H. E. Mr. Mohamed Boussaid, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Kingdom of Morocco and member of BADEA’s Board of Governors, and chaired by H.E. Eng. Yousef Ben Ibrahim Al-Bassam, Chairman of the Board, in the presence of H. E. Dr. Sidi Ould TAH, the Director General.

The Board of Governors, of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), is supposed to take place in the Dead Sea, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, for its 43rd Annual Meeting, within the framework of the Joint-Annual Meetings of Arab Financial Institutions, scheduled to take place from 10 to 11 April 2018.

The Joint-Annual Meetings of Arab Financial Institutions will bring together, besides BADEA, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Arab Investment & Export Credit Guarantee Corporation, the Arab Monetary Fund and the Arab Authority for Investment and Agricultural Development.

The Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) hosts the 81st meeting of the Coordination Group of Arab National and Regional Developmental Institutions, to be held in Khartoum during the period 20 to 22, March 2018.

The Coordination Group includes, besides BADEA: The Islamic Development Bank, the OPEC Fund for International Development, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Saudi Fund for Development, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, the Arab Monetary Fund, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, Qatar Development Fund and the Arab Gulf Program for Development.

The Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), has signed a loan agreement worth US $ 12.05 million for the benefit of Burkina Faso. The agreement was signed during the official visit of H.E. Dr. Sidi Ould TAH, Director General of BADEA, to Burkina Faso that took place during the last month of January 2018.

The project, which is part of the national strategy for the development of higher education sector and scientific research, aims at carrying out a program of modernization and extension of national universities.
