Tangier Hosts the Second Meeting of BADEA’s Board of Directors

During the period from 20 to 22 June 2018, Tangier, kingdom of Morocco, will host the second meeting of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), for the year 2018.

The meeting will be opened by H. E. Mr. Mohamed Boussaid, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Kingdom of Morocco and member of BADEA’s Board of Governors, and chaired by H.E. Eng. Yousef Ben Ibrahim Al-Bassam, Chairman of the Board, in the presence of H. E. Dr. Sidi Ould TAH, the Director General.

The agenda of the meeting includes discussion of various topics, of which the report of the Director General on the performance of BADEA during the second quarter of 2018, and some reports on the financial performance system during the same period.

The agenda also contains a proposal of a new set of development operations for the Board to approve funding, including public sector projects and private sector, foreign trade and technical assistance operations, for the benefit of some African countries.

It is worth to be mentioned that by the end of 2017, BADEA’s total commitments for the benefit of the African countries – south of Sahara – amounted to about 5.4 billion dollars.
