BADEA and UNITAR organize a training session in Khartoum

A training session on Geographical Information System (GIS), was launched on Sunday, 10 December 2017, at BADEA’s Headquarters in Khartoum. The training is executed and supervised by Experts from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).

The training programme aims to contribute to strengthening the Project Monitoring Capacities of African Cadres in order to follow up  the projects financed by BADEA, in areas that far from capitals and are difficult to visit and follow.

The training programme comprises two phases:

Phase 1: Training Session to strengthen the capacity of 15 cadres from African beneficiary’s countries to monitor projects through the enhancement of their skills to use GIS and its work mechanisms in monitoring project implementation. The training course is attended also by 5 Experts from BADEA.

Phase II: Implementation of the project monitoring system through the Internet Network to remotely monitor five projects which can be increased in the future.

The training session was officially opened on Sunday, 10, December 2017, by Dr. Tijani Najeh, Acting Director of Operations Dept., on behalf of H. E. Dr. Sidi Ould TAH, Director-General of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA).
